This semester is in biology has been fun. At times it was difficult but it challenged me as a student and I'm glad. I learned a lot that I will take with me into college. Something that I found was difficult was all the work that we were assigned. The hardest part was making sure I got everything done on time because I procrastinate a lot. I learned that if I do that in college I'll be putting myself in a bad situation. I really enjoyed the class. It was really fun and I really enjoyed all the labs we did. I'm glad mr Vogler was so hard on us because it pushed me as a student. Out of all my classes I feel like biology is the one where I learned the most. I really will miss being in biology.

This week in biology we did our classification project presentations and I didn't do as well as I hoped but I did ok. We get to dissect pigs soon so that will be fun and we have our lab practical coming up. I'm kinda nervous about that but I think I'll do ok

This week in biology we got to dissect a frog and worm. Dissecting the frog was really cool. I think we get to do pigs next so that'll probably be fun too. Our collection projects are due Thursday so I'm going to start actually collecting insects today. We also have our website project due in a couple weeks too

This week in biology we did our press conference which were really fun. I made a 98 on mine so I was really proud of myself. The topic I brought up caused everyone to have a lot of questions for me but I think I handle those questions very well. We are also starting our collection project and it's pretty cool. I'm going to collect insects. I think it'll be fun

I missed this past week in biology because I went on a trip to Disney World with the band. I have a lot of things I have to make up and it's really stressing me out but I know I can get it all turned in. I'm nervous about our press conference thing Wednesday too.

This week in biology we have talked about our biggest project that we have to do. It's going to be challenging since it is so much work that has to be done but I think Tonya and I will be able to make a good grade on it. We took our midterm today and I didn't do that bad but I wish I would have done better. I probably should have studied more. Overall this has been a pretty okay week.

This week in biology we learned more about incomplete dominates and co-dominates. These weren't that hard so I was happy about that. We were also assigned a new project where we have to give a presidential speech. We have four people in a group and one person is the president, one is the chief, and the other two are just helpers. I was assigned to be the president of my group... it sucks. I'm awful at public speaking but I'm hoping it won't go too bad.

This week in biology I missed a day so that didn't help me very much. We did learn about Punnet squares though and what the genetic traits of an offspring will be based on the parents genes. We also learned about dominant and recessive traits Dominant traits are always expressed with a capital letter and recessive with a lower case letter. I going to have to get caught up on the work I missed but I don't think it'll be that much.

This week in Biology we learned a lot about DNA. I learned that the structure of DNA is a double helix and also how to transcribe DNA to RNA. We did a really cool lab where we tried to extract DNA out of split peas. It was kind of hard to do because everything had to be done exactly right. We also have another project due on April 1 and I have a lot of work I have to get done for that. It's a difficult project because it has to be simple enough for 4th graders to understand but explain the disease thoroughly. I hope I can make a good grade on it.

This week we watched Jurassic Park and did a web quest to go with it. I've seen this movie a few times but I really like watching it. The way they pulled the DNA from the blood in the mosquito was really cool. That isn't possible for us to do in real life though because we couldn't feel in the gaps with frog DNA like they did. I believe that one day we will get to the point where we can recreate dinosaurs. It's going to be dangerous though because like in the movie the dinosaurs could get loose and attack us. I think this movie was good for us to watch though to see how we could recreate an animal that has gone extincted.

This week in Biology we did a really fun lab using the microscopes. I thought it was really cool being able to see the nucleus in the animal and plant cells. I also got to learn how to properly use a microscope. Biology hasn't been that hard for me so far. I've really loved it so far and I hope it stays that way. It is definitely one of my favorite classes.

This week in biology has been really good. We presenting our cell models yesterday and I made a 95 so I'm really proud of myself. I need to work on my public speaking skills though because I was really nervous presenting. We took our first exam today and I made a 98 so that was awesome. I can't wait for our lab tomorrow because they are always fun. Overall I've had a really good week in biology.

This week in biology we learned more about enzymes and cellular respiration and photosynthesis. We did a really cool lab where we took a piece of chicken liver and put it into hydrogen peroxide. I thought this was really cool because the enzyme in the liver, catalase, turned the peroxide into just water. I really liked doing that and I hope we get to more labs like that. We have our first test on Monday and I'm a little nervous but I think I will do okay because I've been studying. I'm hoping it won't be too hard but I'm sure it probably will be. We also have our first project due Tuesday and I'm having fun with it. I'm almost completely finished with it and I think I've done a good job with it. The only part I'm nervous about is the speaking part because I get nervous talking in front of people.

These past couple of weeks we have been learning about proteins, lipids, carbohydrates, and nucleic acids. We had our first quiz today and I didn't do too bad on it but I would've liked to make an A instead of a B. I realize that I'm going to have to actually start studying now instead of thinking I'll do fine without it. I'm going to have to work a lot harder in this class than I've had to before. We have our first project due on the 18th but I haven't worked on it yet (I should probably start doing that), I'm going to get all my supplies this weekend at Michael's in Winston so I'm going to start doing my research for what cell I want to do and the type of model I'm going to do. I'm hoping I will end up making a final grade of an A in this class.
